On the apse wall there is an Annunciation by Benedetto Bonfigli from the second half of the 15th century, which is now heavily damaged. The fresco of the Adoration of the Shepherds from the Chiesa dell’Annunziata was removed in 1843 and is now housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Due to its geographical location, Fontignano’s historic hospital was used to accommodate travellers and the sick.

Sentiero 909 begins at the Area verde di Fontignano at an altitude of 290 m and leads to the vicinity of an ancient tower. Its circular route offers various views of Lake Trasimeno and the Val Nestore. The third stage of the Sentieri del Perugino begins in Fontignano and leads towards the area of Pietrafitta. On the stage starting from Fontignano, agricultural and wooded areas alternate. This means the circular route and the stage can be considered different planning options.
