Ponte d'Arbia lies on the Arbia watercourse, between Monteroni d'Arbia and Buonconvento. At the same time, the village is located on the Via Cassia and along the route of the historic Via Francigena. The bridge over the Arbia watercourse gave Ponte d'Arbia its name and has five arches. The Comune di Siena built it in 1388; in 1656, it was rebuilt under Prince Mattia de' Medici, the governor of Siena. Its construction history can therefore be traced across several centuries, providing a tangible gateway to the history of the village.

Another striking connection is the Ponte del Pellegrino. The footbridge, made entirely of wood and steel, is 40 metres long and two and a half metres wide. It was designed by Studio Lastri Associati in Siena. History, mill and local culture

In 1037, when Ponte d'Arbia was still known as Borgo d'Arbia, the village was the setting for an important legal act. It established that the Chiatina estate belonged to the monastery of della Berardenga and, on its behalf, to Abbot Ubertino. The name Borgo d'Arbia thus opens a historical chapter that predates the later construction phases of the bridge by a considerable margin.

The preserved mill at the bridge is also known as Mulino di Serravalle or Mulino di Sprenna. It continued grinding grain until the previous century. The Chiesa Sacra Famiglia also has a distinctive history: Don Dino Fabiani developed its roof shape after observing a limpet clinging to a rock. Since 1983, the Centro Culturale „Mons. L.Cresti“ has served as a cultural centre and pilgrim hostel on the Via Francigena.

The cultural profile also includes the annual sculpture symposium in Ponte d'Arbia. It brought together sculptors, predominantly from Japan, whose works were donated to the area.
