The aim was to present the history of Castellaccio from the year 1100 to the present day, including the events of September 24, 1944. The walk thus focused on a specific historical period and a specific event within the history of the place.

A route along the Gothic Line begins at the ruins of Castellaccio di Aquilea. From there, there is a panorama over the plain of Lucca and the Serchio Valley. The start at the ruins and the view over both landscapes are part of the same route described.
