Museo Michelangiolesco
The Museo Michelangiolesco displays frescoes with 23 scenes from Michelangelo’s life. In the outdoor areas and the upper courtyard, it houses modern and contemporary wooden and bronze sculptures, mainly from the second half of the 20th century. This allows you to encounter different artistic eras and forms in one place. For those interested in culture, scenes from Michelangelo’s life stand alongside modern and contemporary sculptures made of wood and bronze.
Churches in Monna
The sacred history includes the Chiesa di San Cristoforo and the Chiesa di San Paolo in Monna. San Cristoforo was founded by Benedictine monks in the 10th century, while San Paolo dates from the 11th century. Both churches therefore represent different historical periods. San Cristoforo is the older of the two churches.
Santuario della Madonna della Selva
The Santuario della Madonna della Selva was built between 1634 and 1640 to house an older fresco and accommodate many worshippers. Following the reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1634, the fresco became increasingly venerated in Caprese and the surrounding area. The Santuario de La Verna monastery is located in the vicinity of Caprese Michelangelo.

Festa del Marrone DOP
