Castello di Cennina was besieged, destroyed and rebuilt several times. The fortifications retain the line of the walls and a largely intact wall in the northeast. The restored Castello serves as a tourist and cultural centre, where theatre performances, conferences, concerts and exhibitions are promoted. The Cassero was once the heart of the fortification.

On the Castelli Incantati route, the Chiesa di San Pietro lies north of the remains of Cennina’s imposing fortification wall.
