Valduga appeals to you if, on a trip, you would like to connect stories of historic trails, waterways, a church and a small chapel. The Sentiero dele Teragnòle reaches Valduga via Noriglio and Valgrande, passing through the picturesque historic town center. For a trip involving different interests, this connection opens up several perspectives on the same place: trails tell of former connections, while waterscapes and woodland landscapes establish a link with nature. In the town and along the route, the church, chapel and remains of sawmills also provide different historical points of reference.

Historic Trails and Different Trail Profiles

The Sentiero dele Teragnòle is a historic trail that connected the Terragnolo Valley with Rovereto. The Sentiero delle Teragnole retraces the route that women from the Terragnolo Valley walked into the city to sell agricultural produce. This trail story connects the local area with the everyday life of past generations. The route thus points to former connections between the valley and the city, as well as to the women’s agricultural life.

The Sentiero della Cesura hiking trail starts in Valduga, descends into the valley to the village of Fontanelle and runs alongside a landslide on the riverbank. When planning a hike, the starting point, destination and riverside section can be noted here as three different points of orientation.

The Sentiero dei Pintareni is 10 km long, has an elevation figure of 450 m and is classified as moderate to challenging because of its length. When planning a day trip, the route length, elevation figure and classification are the main considerations.

Water Trails through Natural Landscapes

The Percorso dell’acqua leads from Valduga to the hamlet of Sega and is one of the walking routes along the mountain stream. At the same time, it is considered part of a group of trails regarded as discovery tours through natural and wooded landscapes. The watercourse thus provides a distinct accent alongside the historic trail connections. When planning a walk, the mountain stream, the route to Sega and the wooded landscape are the main points of focus.

Church, Chapel and Traces of Craftsmanship

In Valduga, the church is known as Chiesa della Madonna del Monte Carmelo and Chiesa della Madonna del Carmine. A small chapel at the entrance to the village is dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine. On the route from Valduga to the River Leno, the remains of an old sawmill called “la sega del Valerio” can be seen. The church, chapel and sawmill remains add different cultural accents alongside the trail routes. The sawmill also adds a connection with craftsmanship to the route from Valduga to the River Leno.
