At the northwestern edge of Val di Non, Val di Bresimo lies in the Maddalene range. Early medieval origins and Venetian sawmill

At the Santuario di Santa Maria Assunta, the origins date back to the early medieval Romanesque period. The sanctuary thus represents a sacred site with a clear historical classification. In Bagni di Bresimo, the restored historic Venetian sawmill offers another destination. The sawmill is water-powered and can be visited. The different nature of the two destinations therefore ranges from a sacred site to a technical facility with a specific type of drive. This creates two distinct focal points for a cultural stay, without suggesting that the two buildings represent the same history or function.

Historic destinations from the piazza

From the piazza by the Church of San Bernardo, it is 850 m on foot to the Venetian sawmill. The distance from the same piazza to the historic mill is 950 m. Both routes therefore start from the same local reference point, but do not cover the same distance. The sawmill is closer to the piazza, while the route to the historic mill is slightly longer. The two historic destinations can thus be considered separately from a shared starting point, without combining them into a single destination.

Sentiero Italia and a stay by the spring

The Sentiero Italia runs through Bragni di Bresimo and Bevia di Bresimo. In addition to the individual historic destinations, the trail adds its own linear route to the stay. Its spatial character therefore differs from that of a destination located at a single building or at the piazza by the Church of San Bernardo. There is also a green area for spending time at the iron-rich spring. Tables and benches are available there as seating, while the fireplaces are expressly intended for barbecuing. The green area thus makes it possible to combine sitting and barbecuing at the same spring.

Malga Bordolona and hiking trails

Malga Bordolona serves lunch and dinner. The SAT hiking trails O112 and O136, on the other hand, belong to Malga Bordolona Bassa. At one malga, food is available at two times of day; at the other, there are two designated hiking trails. Eating and trail-finding are therefore associated with different malga references. Those who distinguish between the two names will associate the lunch and dinner offerings with Malga Bordolona and trails O112 and O136 with Malga Bordolona Bassa.
