A holiday apartment in Mongiove gives you access to a coastal village with a very extensive sandy beach, distinctive rock towers and grottos just offshore. The steep slopes of Monte Giove shape the natural landscape with coves and sea grottos. Here, open stretches of beach meet a highly varied coastline – an interesting setting for diverse holiday experiences.

Nature between Mongiove and the Laghetti di Marinello

The Laghetti di Marinello nature reserve stretches from the Tindari promontory to Mongiove. In the vicinity of Mongiove, it is connected to the Natura 2000 SAC ITA030012 “Laguna di Oliveri – Tindari”. The coastal section between Patti and the Laghetti di Marinello also has a distinctly Mediterranean character, shaped by typically Mediterranean vegetation.

Beach, rocks and grottos at Monte Giove

Mongiove beach is characterised by its sandy shoreline and its considerable extent. A few metres offshore, sea grottos and rock towers rise from the water in front of the beach. Together with the steep slopes of Monte Giove, the coves and the Mediterranean vegetation, they create a landscape that you can explore both from the beach and from the water.

Boat trips and experiences on the water

Grotte Beach offers boat trips along the coast of Monte Giove to hidden coves and natural grottos that are accessible only from the sea. The coastal section with the Mongiove grottos between Patti and the Laghetti di Marinello can only be reached by sea. Different conditions apply to individual grottos: some of the Mongiove grottos are easy to access, while a canoe is required for more distant grottos. The area is also suitable for trips by boat, canoe and pedal boat.

Evening atmosphere and choosing your holiday apartment

At sunset, Grotte Beach offers aperitifs with drinks and snacks, accompanied by views of the Aeolian Islands. These different daily rhythms can provide useful guidance when choosing a holiday apartment in Mongiove: you can combine days at the beach, discoveries on the water and an enjoyable evening by the sea without limiting your holiday to just one activity.
