A redevelopment project created a new seafront promenade in Mazzeo, intended to enhance the entire coastal area. The renovated seafront promenade of Mazzeo includes a footpath along the shore. It also features new paved areas, modern railings, energy-efficient lighting, green spaces and new canopies. The promenade thus combines the path, paving, railings, lighting, green spaces and canopies into a redesigned section of the waterfront. The footpath follows the coastal section, while the new paved areas and railings define the developed area. Mazzeo Beach has accessible access ramps, showers with drinking water and waste containers for separate waste collection. The facilities on the sand complement the renewed waterfront design with practical features for access, drinking-water supply and separate waste collection. The combination of the footpath, green spaces, canopies and beach access points characterizes the renovated waterfront section of Mazzeo and complements the sandy areas. Along the shore, the footpath creates a fixed line between the beach and the promenade.

Events with different highlights

Events in Mazzeo also focus on different themes. In 2026, Mazzeo hosted the third edition of the event “Bandiera Blu al mare in sicurezza” for World Drowning Prevention Day. The event was open to everyone and combined information sessions, practical demonstrations and performances. At the Festa del Mare 2025 in Mazzeo, there were games on the beach. The Festa del Mare took place in Mazzeo on May 1, 2025, and was scheduled for May 1, 2026. As part of the Festa del Mare – Rinascita Blu 2026, a publicly accessible experience featuring a vertical-flight balloon ride took place on Mazzeo Beach. Via Appiano and further planning

The parish church Parrocchia Santa Maria Goretti is located on Via Appiano in Mazzeo. A car park was established on the same Via Appiano, and traffic was reorganized.
