Following the Peace of Cherasco, Cuceglio fell to the House of Savoy in 1631.

A visible detail of the town's later history is the bell tower on Piazza Marconi: its construction began in 1710 at the expense of the municipality.

A probable medieval castle is associated with Coleto de Melioretis and the Cucilium Castrum. Coleto de Melioretis was castellan of Cuceglio in 1334.
