The Chiesa Parrocchiale dei Santi Giacomo e Cristoforo is Bonvicino’s parish church and is located in the main village of the municipality. The building dates from the 17th century and has three naves. Pilasters structure the façade, while the portal has a Baroque surround and a pediment above it. After the 1887 earthquake, the church was structurally secured and extended according to a design by the surveyor Schellino. The building also contains a wooden statue by the sculptor Roascio. Bonvicino’s recorded medieval history includes its violent occupation by the Visconti in 1432, after rule had passed from the Marquises of Monferrato. Bonvicino’s historical perspective therefore extends from the Middle Ages into the 20th century.
