At the Centro di Documentazione Archeologica di Novilara, you will find an exhibition area dedicated to the local geology and geomorphology, as well as to the Picenian culture. This culture is attested by the necropolises on the nearby estates of Servici and Molaroni. The Iron Age necropolis of Novilara yielded a total of 293 graves from the Molaroni and Servici areas. For visitors interested in culture, this setting combines the appreciation of the landscape with a tangible insight into the history of the area.

The documentation centre also houses three copies of the sandstone stelae found in the surrounding area. They are complemented by a wooden model of the ship depicted on the stele featuring the ship. The characteristic sandstone stelae found in and around Novilara date from the late 7th to the early 6th century BC. Their depictions include naval battles, combat and hunting scenes. The objects found in the burials also point to intensive relations and exchanges with southern and northern Italy, as well as with the Illyrian coast.

The Centro di Documentazione Archeologica di Novilara can be visited by prior reservation through the Associazione Culturale L’Anfora. Admission is possible with the Card Pesaro Musei.
