Discover Pedaso: Holiday apartment in Pedaso between coast and culture
Accommodation in Pedaso
Pedaso combines coast, nature and culture.
Holiday apartment in Pedaso between Pebble Beach and the coastal path
Pedaso beach consists of pebbles, and natural rocks can be found along its shore. The „Lungomare dei cantautori del XX secolo“ provides an approximately two-kilometre walk along the beach. Its approximate length is suitable for straightforward planning of a walk along the Pedaso shore. The path is accessible via underpasses dedicated to contemporary singer-songwriters.
The clear coastal waters of Pedaso, with their rich marine flora and fauna, are particularly suitable for diving and underwater fishing. A cycle path begins at the mouth of the River Aso on the border with Campofilone and continues southwards. For route planning, the starting point and southern direction of the cycle path along the Pedaso shore can serve as clear reference points.
Nature between rock, mountain plateau and ancient oaks
La Cupa is a remarkable rock fissure in the mountain and evidence of the landslides that have occurred over the centuries. On the plateau of Monte Serrone, you can visit an astronomical observatory. It has a highly powerful computer-controlled telescope powered by a photovoltaic system. The plateau therefore brings together mountain scenery and observation of the sky.
The Parco della Villa Bruti Liberati contains a rare group of centuries-old oak trees. In the town centre and along the coast, the group forms a green area of exceptional scenic beauty. The park is recognised as a landscape of considerable public interest.
History and culture in Pedaso
The Pedaso lighthouse was built in 1877, mined by the retreating Austrian pioneers of the German army, and rebuilt immediately after the war. The Neo-Gothic church of Santa Maria e San Pietro Apostolo was built from 1897 to 1929. Its sacristy contains a Holy Family with the infant John from 1750, attributed to Filippo Ricci. The church thus connects its architectural history with the 1750 artwork in the sacristy.
The Chiesolina, dedicated to the Madonna Addolorata, was Pedaso's only parish church until the beginning of the 20th century. In the historic centre, the former seat of the municipal administration has a tower and a clock. A contemporary cultural space is provided by the BIMP – Biblioteca Interattiva Multimediale. It was inaugurated in July 2014 and is intended for various uses.
