Discover Zenevredo: Holiday Apartment for Wine, Landscapes and History
Zenevredo lies near the plain, to the right of the Torrente Versa, among the first hills at just over 200 metres above sea level. Fields, the first slopes and small streams shape the rural landscape. The Rio Fontanone flows through Poggio Pelato; the Rio Paolone flows through the district of Zenevredo that bears the same name. From the “Le nostre colline” viewpoint, the view extends across the vineyards. The elevation, waterways and vineyards provide the landscape with equally tangible reference points, alongside the fields and slopes.
Holiday Apartment in Zenevredo: History, Wine and Trails
The Chiesa di San Vincenzo dates from the mid-18th century. In its rear section, particularly in the presbytery and sacristy, traces of Romanesque masonry made from local stone and bricks have been preserved. The façade, by contrast, was rebuilt in 1871; the Romanesque traces and the later façade design therefore belong to different areas and construction periods of the church building. In the town centre, there is also a 14th-century tower at the site identified with the former castle location. Admission to the Chiesa di San Vincenzo is free; the car park there is wheelchair accessible.
At Oltrenero, wine takes centre stage: The sparkling wines produced using the Metodo Classico method undergo a second fermentation in the bottle. During a guided tasting, three sparkling wines are paired with specialities such as Salame di Varzi DOP, goat’s cheese and Formaggella di Menconico. This combination gives the tour a clear culinary focus. Oltrenero is open year-round to visitors and wine enthusiasts. For planning your day, the opening hours are split from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday; visits are possible from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays, while it is closed on Sundays.
Polenta and Activities in the 2026 Annual Programme
The Polentata di Zenevredo reached its fifth edition in 2026. At the 2026 Polentata di Zenevredo, visitors could sample traditional polenta from Lombardy’s rural cuisine in the Ortone della Chiesa district from 12:00 p.m. The day began with the fourth edition of a charity run; the meeting point was at 8:00 a.m. at the Centro Sportivo di Zenevredo. In terms of the programme schedule, the day therefore included an early run followed by the polenta event later on the same day.
Routes Through Hills and Vineyards
The Zenevredo–Montù Beccaria route runs through hills and vineyards. The route of the 2021 Giro d’Italia in Oltrepò Pavese branched off the Strada Statale 10 Padana Inferiore onto the Strada Provinciale 85 towards Zenevredo, then continued on the Provinciale 134 towards Montù Beccaria.
