The Museo del Paesaggio del Lago di Como houses a collection of old prints of Lake Como dating from the 16th to the 19th century. It also features the multimedia section “Cinema sul Lario” with short films and information about filming locations.

Villas, crypt and village history in Tremezzo

Villa Mainona is one of the earliest historically documented examples of a stately villa with a large garden on the lakeshore. It was built between 1670 and 1672 for the Mainoni family, who came from Intignano, a hamlet of Tremezzo. The large lakeside garden is part of the architectural complex, while Intignano is linked to Tremezzo as the family's place of origin.

Villa Sola Cabiati accommodated Giuseppe Parini from 1754, when he worked there as a tutor to the owner's children. It also has a lakeside landing stage added in 1813, built according to a design by Francesco Bernardino Ferrari. This villa therefore brings together the history of its resident and a precisely dated architectural feature.

The crypt of the Chiesa di Santo Stefano is traditionally dated to the second half of the 11th century and bears witness to the Romanesque period.

Rogaro: hills, rural stone houses and a local asparagus-growing tradition

Rogaro is a hilly hamlet of Tremezzo with panoramic views and rural stone houses. Rogaro has a tradition of growing a special local variety of asparagus. The Oratorio della Madonna di Einsiedeln, built in 1733, stands in the village centre. The character of the landscape changes between the lakeside villas and Rogaro's hillside setting.
