The Santuario della Madonna di Supina was built by the municipality of Toscolano at the end of the 15th century out of devotion. During his apostolic visit in 1580, Carlo Borromeo found that it had three altars and ordered numerous structural and artistic changes. The main altarpiece of this church, depicting Saint Nicholas, the Trinity and a donor, was created by the Venetian artist Girolamo Pilotti between the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century.

In Messaga, a hamlet of Cecina, stands the Church of Sant’Antonio di Padova. The small Oratory of Sant’Antonio da Padova was built in the 17th century by the noble family of Counts Fioravanti Zuanelli. In the 16th century, Cecina was a village of printers who lived and worked here.
