The present-day Church of San Giovanni Evangelista was built in 1755, after the old parish church had been almost completely demolished. It was the seat of the chapter of the Pieve di Pontirolo. This pieve was founded between the 8th and 9th centuries and comprised 36 villages. The former Church of Sant’Anna is still a destination for outings amid the greenery of Parco Adda Nord. After its restoration, it was used for cultural events, celebrations and civil weddings.
