The Bossico high plateau has 50 kilometers of trails through meadows and forests, with views of Lake Iseo. Sentiero 553 begins in the higher part of Bossico at 875 m and leads across the meadows of Onìt (Onito). In spring, buttercups, daisies and forget-me-nots are among the flowers that bloom there. The Sette Colli circular trail offers views of Lake Iseo and Monte Isola; it starts and ends in Località Pila at parking area 1.

The Pozza d’Ast route includes a 2.5 km linear variant that climbs from 1,030 m to 1,290 m. In clear conditions, this variant reaches a high plateau with views of the Po River and the Apennines. Different trail lengths and starting points make it easier to plan days with different focuses. The Bossico–Ceratello route for Nordic walking starts in Piazza S. Pietro, Bossico’s main square. Cyclists can take the Percorso Rosso MTB loop, described as moderately difficult to easy, with sections on single trails, gravel roads and technically challenging descents. The Percorso Nero MTB loop starts and ends at the Pro Loco office at Via Giardini 1.

Discover chapels, villas and local history

There is a chapel dating from 1902 at Colle San Fermo. Above its altar is a fresco depicting Saint Fermo, the Madonna and various domestic animals. The historic villas on the Bossico high plateau were built by the bourgeoisie in the 19th century. At the entrance to the town, the parish church of Santi Pietro e Paolo probably dates from around 1500. The San Rocco chapel at the end of Via Bonomelli, just beyond the old washhouse, also dates from around 1500.

Nature, cheese and a festival in July

Il Respiro del Bosco includes a meditation area in a forest clearing, with an information board and hammocks. A culinary specialty is the aged cheese „Bossico stagionato“: it matures for 7 to 10 months and is produced according to specific production regulations. At Pozza d’Ast, the Gruppo Alpini di Bossico holds a festival every year in July, on the second or third weekend of the month. This makes it possible to combine trails and nature with local flavors and a recurring event in the annual calendar.
