Forest trails, waterways and traces of culture

The Sentiero 714 connects the Adrara Valley with the Vigolo Valley via an old mule track and the Colle Dedine. At the same time, the Sentiero ASR 02 – Il bosco e la fauna forms a 3 km circular trail across the wooded slope of the Valle di Bondo; thematic environmental education areas give it a clear focus on nature and learning.

Hiking trails for short and extended days

The Sentiero ASR 01 – Percorso vita runs along the Torrente Guerna through the greenery and is equipped as a fitness and adventure trail. It is 3 km long, has an elevation difference of 20 m, takes about one hour and is classified as easy. The ASR 02 circular trail can be accessed at the Romanesque church of “Ai morti di Bondo”; there is a large parking area there.

The footpath 7 requires more stamina: it starts in Adrara San Rocco and leads to the Colle Dedine in up to five hours, with an ascent of 739 metres. The Sentiero 744 runs through dense coniferous forests and past the rural settlement centres of Bariletti and Piei. On the Sentiero 714A, beech and larch forests alternate; the trail also crosses two streams. A table with benches is part of this trail, which offers views of Lake Iseo, Monte Guglielmo and the Valle Camonica with its high peaks.

Water, rock and streambed

The upper course of the Torrente Guerna features gorges, waterfalls, pools and rock slides and is suitable for canyoning. The large pools in the rocky streambed are called “Tinelle”. Climbing is possible on the rock face of Coren using permanently installed bolts. The Sentiero ASR 03 – Coren is 1.4 km long, has an elevation difference of 50 m, takes about 30 minutes and is classified as a tourist trail.

Churches, hamlets and traces of local history

The Santuario dei SS. Faustino e Giovita contains paintings by Cambianica as well as vault frescoes by Giacomo Belotti. Over the years, it has become a frequent destination for pilgrims. The small Chiesa dell’Annunciata al “Forno” was built in the first half of the 20th century. A small church or chapel dedicated to San Giuda Taddeo is located about 30 metres from it and can be reached via the path to the left of the church.

Contrada Forno is a medieval hamlet in Adrara San Rocco and still features traces of travertine around old windows at street level. In Contrada Dumengoni, the water supply channel and the reconstructed water wheel are still visible. Near the village of Corna, there is also a small family business that grows or produces and sells honey, soft fruit and jams.
