Sea, Water Sports and Harbour

The paths also offer various ways to experience Andora and its surroundings. The Sentiero delle Orchidee bypasses the transmission facilities and descends gently towards Parco Ciappà and Cervo. Another hiking section begins at the staircase to the right of the fortified house or parish house and follows a mule track to the upper part of Rollo, “Case Banda di là”. The path meets the ancient Via Julia Augusta and follows it to Colla Micheri.

For longer stages, Stage 23 of the Sentiero Liguria begins in Andora and ends in the attractive historic centre of Albenga.

Borgo Castello, Museums and Contemporary Art

In Borgo Castello stands the Church of Saints James and Philip, a well-preserved Romanesque building from the 12th or 13th century. Its basilica-style layout comprises three naves. The church can be reached on foot via paths to Borgo Castello, some of which climb uphill. For your daily itinerary, this means that the visit combines architectural history with a stretch of path where the incline should be taken into account.

The Museo Mineralogico Luciano Dabroi houses a collection of more than 5,000 items donated to the municipality of Andora by Dr Luciano Dabroi. Palazzo Tagliaferro is also home to the Contemporary Culture Center, an exhibition space for contemporary art curated by Whitelabs. Two viewing terraces at Palazzo Tagliaferro overlook Parco delle Farfalle, the sea and the hills of Andora.

Rollo and Ligurian Flavours

The Festa delle Erbe Aromatiche takes place every year in Rollo. The festival is dedicated to the flavours of Liguria and medicinal herbs, adding a regional tradition to the cultural impressions. Andora’s culinary tradition includes fresh pasta, seafood dishes and flavours shaped by rural cuisine. In this way, the town can be discovered not only through its beaches, paths and buildings, but also through different forms of Ligurian cuisine.
