Porticoes, Churches and a Theatre

Pieve Di Teco reveals its character along the main central street: large pointed-arch porticoes were built from the 15th century onwards and were largely completed in the first half of the 16th century. To this day, they form a lively centre with shops and workshops. Craftspeople often worked beneath the porticoes, especially shoemakers and tailors. The sacred side of Pieve Di Teco includes Madonna della Ripa. It was built in 1370 as the first parish church of the new town centre and is a Gothic three-nave church with stone columns. The Teatro Salvini has a 43-square-metre stage and 99 seats in the stalls, boxes and gallery. It was restored and reopened to the public in 2005. Together with the churches and porticoes, it is one of the tangible cultural points of interest you can include when exploring the town.
