The second chapel on the left in the Parrocchia di San Marco Evangelista houses the polyptych “Madonna and Child with Saints Giuliano and Bernardo”. The Polittico di San Marco is currently kept in the sacristy.

The Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo has a proto-Romanesque foundation dating from the 11th century. During restoration work, fragments of frescoes from the second half of the 15th century came to light. In the apse, Christ blessing is shown in a mandorla with the symbols of the four Evangelists; below, the twelve Apostles are depicted.

The Chiesa Oratorio dei Bianchi also makes a distinct architectural statement: the Baroque building has a triangular bell tower and is decorated with 17th-century frescoes. The also Baroque Oratorio del Suffragio has a double flight of steps with a curved marble balustrade. Two fountains there feature depictions of siren heads.

The Palazzo Doria in Camporosso was the residence of the Doria marquises in the 17th and 18th centuries. The historic centre also contains a large millstone disc representing the old Frantoio dello Sfrollo. In the first half of the 19th century, this was one of sixteen oil mills in Camporosso. Francesco Maria’s house is marked by a commemorative plaque.

Open spaces and birdwatching

The Parco attrezzato Bigauda lies south of the historic centre. It covers an approximately 20,000-square-metre open and level area that is directly accessible and visible from the provincial road. South of the theatre, a hill has a gentle slope and offers a privileged observation point with a 360-degree view.

The Oasi del Nervia lies at the mouth of the Nervia River between Ventimiglia and Camporosso. It provides a habitat for more than 200 species of wild birds. The Oasi’s small size allows birds to be observed from close range and makes it interesting for birdwatching.
