Its original dedication to the Nativity of Mary was retained.

The central panel of the Borganzo polyptych depicts the Madonna della Consolazione, flanked by San Michele arcangelo and San Rocco. Above it, Christ is shown in the Pietà. The church vault is decorated with frescoes by Giacomo Rolando dated 1937. They depict La presentazione di Maria Santissima Bambina and Il martirio dei santi Cosma e Damiano.

Another important artwork is the polyptych by Antonio Brea, dated and signed 1518. It is located in Borganzo, in the Chiesa dei Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio. The cultural picture is complemented by the Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista: its richly decorated façade features columns, stucco and large statues. The oratorio lies just outside the village and is a private chapel belonging to the historic Ardissone family.

Memory and rural character

The Giardino dei Diritti Umani in Borganzo is part of the Giardini dei Giusti network. Every year, it is expanded with new trees, monuments, symbols and memorial markers. Installations and commemorative plaques honour the Giorno della Memoria there. The site thus creates a distinctive accent alongside Borganzo’s sacred art.
