Sutri combines impressive traces from many centuries with a landscape in which tuff itself becomes the defining material. Sutri's Roman amphitheatre is also carved into the tuff. It was built between the end of the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD. The museum in Palazzo Doebbing was created to house masterpieces of ancient and contemporary art. The historic site “Sutri, Castello di Carlo Magno” is also located in the vicinity of Sutri.
