Savio: Nature, Cycling Route and Adventure Parks

Savio combines immersive experiences in nature with a varied selection of attractions. Between the Pineta di Classe, the Bevano River, a unique cycling route, and safari and adventure parks, you can spend your days on holiday in many different ways. Pineta di Classe and the Bevano Estuary

An important natural area lies around the Centro Visite Bevanella. It is located near the historic Pineta di Classe and the Bevano River. The area includes the natural Bevano Estuary, set in a landscape of approximately 40 hectares with coastal dunes and lagoons further inland. As a result, different types of landscape come together here, without requiring you to limit your trip to a single attraction.

The Pineta di Classe is a 900-hectare nature area open to the public and part of the Parco del Delta del Po. It lies east of the SS16 Adriatica between Classe, Fosso Ghiaia and Savio. Rest and observation areas for wetlands and the local birdlife can be reached on foot or by bicycle. During a stay in Savio, anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors can therefore alternate between peaceful nature observation and more active exploration.

By Bicycle to Nature and Culture

The Centro Visite Bevanella is a starting point for excursions on foot, by electric boat, by bicycle and by canoe. A particularly versatile option is the round-trip route “Pedalando immersi nella Pineta” from the Centro Visita La Bevanella to the Basilica di Classe and the Museo Classis. The route combines an immersive experience in nature with a visit to a UNESCO site and a museum about the history of Ravenna. This allows you to combine physical activity with cultural impressions without having to devote the entire day to a single area of interest.

Safari, Mirabilandia and Mirabeach

There are also several different options for action-packed days in and around Savio. Safari Ravenna is located in Località Mirabilandia, Savio di Ravenna. There, Safari offers educational programmes developed and led by specialised staff. They explain the characteristics and habits of the species kept in the park to visitors. In addition, “Il Safari” describes a 4 km route along which visitors can see animals up close and without barriers.

Mirabilandia offers attractions in six themed areas. Mirabeach is a water park with attractions in three intensity categories – from family-friendly fun to rides for the particularly adventurous. This allows you to take different preferences into account when planning your day: nature and wildlife observation are just as much an option as themed areas and water park attractions.

Transport and Further Orientation

For travelling to Mirabilandia for a day out, the Lido di Savio/Lido di Classe railway station is also relevant. It is connected to Mirabilandia by a dedicated shuttle bus and route 176. Both connections are coordinated with the departure and arrival times of the most important trains.
