Festa di Sant’Atanasio il Grande

The Festa di Sant’Atanasio il Grande is celebrated on 2 May. As part of the festivities, a small colourful paper balloon, the paluni Shën Thanasit, is released every day at around 6 p.m. from 23 April until the feast day on 2 May. On the eve of the Festa di Sant’Atanasio il Grande, a traditional torchlight procession known as the Piçëza passes through the town's streets.
