The Casa-Museo Ribezzi-Petrosillo relates its archaeological collection to the Messapian archaeological site of Muro Tenente; other exhibitions focus on Latiano, its prominent figures and its history. The collection of the Centro di Documentazione Archeologica A. Marseglia ranges from prehistory through the Hellenistic and Late Roman periods to the Middle Ages. The centre was established with more than 300 archaeological finds and documents relating to the Muro Tenente excavation site.

At the Museo del Sottosuolo, thousands of biological, geological, anthropological and palaeontological finds are distributed across four departments. One of them is dedicated to speleology and displays cave formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone curtains, helictites, mountain milk and pisoliths. Churches, monuments and religious history

A wooden crucifix from the 17th century is venerated in the Chiesa del SS. Crocefisso. The Chiesa di Santa Maria della Neve was built at the end of the 15th or beginning of the 16th century on the remains of an earlier church dedicated to the Archangel Michael. The Santuario della Madonna di Cotrino was established beside a 17th-century chapel that preserves a fresco of the Virgin, which has been restored several times. The castle, now the Palazzo di Città, was built in the 17th century on an existing 16th-century structure.

The Monumento San Bartolo Longo was inaugurated on 9 November 1968. The five-metre-high bronze work, based on a design by the sculptor Giacomo Erriquez, depicts Bartolo Longo embracing two children and includes relief panels depicting the fifteen Mysteries. The rooms of his birthplace illustrate aspects of his life and include a tapestry depicting the Madonna di Pompei as well as a portrait of Padre Radente.

Muro Tenente, theatre and regional cuisine

In the Muro Tenente archaeological park, a Messapian house was reconstructed on the foundations of a residential building from the 3rd century BC. The park has a visitor centre with toilets and teaching rooms, as well as paths with information panels that can also be used by people with reduced mobility. The Rassegna teatrale in Vernacolo brings the region’s traditions, stories and language to the stage through theatre; in 2026, the 36th edition took place.
