Rinvyle
Accommodation in Rinvyle
Around Rinvyle, coastal and landscape experiences can shape a day of your holiday in many different ways. Renvyle Beach is a white sandy beach on the Renvyle Peninsula in Connemara, County Galway, and is suitable for swimming and walking. From there, you can see the Twelve Bens.
Coast, island views and routes
Islands View on the peninsula’s north coast offers a different perspective: from there, you can see Crump and other islands in the bay. While Renvyle Beach opens up views of the Twelve Bens, Islands View looks out towards the islands. The viewpoint and the beach there are accessible via a small road off the Connemara Loop; road conditions may vary.
You can also experience the peninsula’s scenery by bike. Renvyle is considered a suitable area for cycling on quiet roads, with numerous scenic stops. One described cycling route runs from Tully Cross through Renvyle, past the gate of Renvyle House and to the end of the peninsula. Road conditions may vary.
Diving in the area
If you would also like to experience the coast underwater, Scubadive West is located near Rinvyle: a PADI dive centre on the shore in Connemara, County Galway. Beginners can try a taster dive accompanied by an expert. The centre also has a sheltered private training bay for beginners. Full diving equipment is available to rent, and air fills of up to 300 bar are available. There is ample free parking by the shore.
Already-qualified divers have further options: boat dives to offshore islands, PADI diving courses and swimming at a kelp reef near the centre. These are clearly distinct from the accompanied taster dive. Check current offerings and availability directly with the centre in advance; if parking is important to you, confirm that too.
Ponies and horse riding
The Connemara Pony National Stud near Renvyle offers tours, talks and demonstrations about the Connemara pony at its visitor centre. The Stud’s riding centre runs horse rides through Connemara’s rugged landscape along the Wild Atlantic Way, for both beginners and experienced riders. This lets you choose between a visit with an information programme and an activity on horseback. Check the current programme and ride availability with the provider in advance.
When looking for a holiday apartment in Rinvyle, your preferred scenery and activity level are both useful filters. Diving options include an accompanied taster dive as well as activities for already-qualified divers; horse rides are available for beginners and experienced riders. This can help you decide more precisely what you would like to focus on during your holiday.

In Coole Park, the Family Trail is an easy, 1.75 km walk: it passes the site of the former house and goes through the walled garden to the Autograph Tree.
