Forest path and nature trail by the lake
With the Körtvélyesi nature trail, Zalacsány reveals a side closely connected to nature: it lies on the hillside above Lake Zalacsány and is 3.1 km long. The path runs through the forest and is covered with wood chips. One of its distinctive features is that the route explores knowledge about the forest and landscape. Eleven information boards introduce forestry practices in the transformation forest, characteristic tree species, features of the landscape and the community-focused work of Zalaerdő Zrt. The topics range from work in the forest and individual tree species to the distinctive features of the landscape.

The nature trail thus combines a specific route with several different information topics. It can be reached via the Zalacsány Recreation Park by walking along the lake’s embankment. The lake also has its own appeal for visitors: it is now used by anglers and boaters. The forest path and the lake represent two different interests that shape Zalacsány.
Castle history and other sights
Batthyány Castle complements the nature-related attractions with a layered architectural history. It was built in the late 19th century in the Neo-Baroque style and renovated. It acquired its present form in 1913, when Batthyány Pál, Lord Lieutenant of Zala County, and his wife, Countess Inkei Karolina, had it rebuilt in a style that combines Baroque and Art Nouveau elements. The castle is currently operated as a hotel. Its architectural history offers a distinct cultural highlight alongside the nature trail and the lake.
Zalacsány’s sights also include the Csány family mausoleum and the Malatinszky–Batthyány manor house. The mausoleum, dating from the early 19th century, is located in the Zalacsány cemetery. Together with the manor house, it adds historical points of interest beyond Batthyány Castle. Visitors especially interested in architecture and local history will find different subjects here than on a walk through the forest.
Cycling, golf and choosing where to stay
An existing local cycle path runs through the northern outskirts of Zalacsány along the former railway line on the Zalaapáti–Zalaszentgrót route. It continues as far as the border of Kehidakustány. The route’s former use as a railway line is part of its history; today it is described as a local cycle path. Another sporting highlight is Zala Springs Golf Resort, which is listed as a sports and tourism complex in Zalacsány.
