Nagypáli brings together several different themes: landscaped play areas, renewable energy and remembrance of the First World War. As you plan your trip, you can consider which of these aspects interests you most. The village’s different attractions can also help you choose a holiday apartment: would you prefer a stay focused on play areas, technical topics or local history?

Play areas with a range of features

In 2006, a playground made from natural materials was built on a 3,700 m² site in the heart of the Nagypáli residential park. The playground in Nagypáli Grund és szabadidőpark has a different focus: at its centre is a castle with four towers, complemented by a tunnel, a serpentine slide and a climbing wall. The site also includes a plant maze, a Tengópálya and a large-scale chessboard.

These different features sit side by side: natural materials, larger climbing and play structures, as well as a maze and chess. Activities range from exploring and climbing to focused play at the chessboard. If you are planning a trip with children, these specific features may be more helpful than a general description of the village: they show the kinds of playground attractions actually found in Nagypáli.

Renewable energy as a theme in its own right

The Nagypáli Energy Park was established in 2012 on a 4,000 m² site next to the Közösségi ház, or community centre. It was created to showcase and promote applied renewable energy technologies. Its main features include a sunflower-like electricity generation system with an output of 4 kW and a hybrid power plant inaugurated in 2017. The sunflower shape and specific capacity give the energy theme both a visual and a technical dimension.

The Megújuló Energiaforrások Innovációs Ökocentrum also focuses on renewable energy. Temporary exhibitions, conferences, lectures and workshops cover biomass, biogas, solar and wind power, and energy crops. They address potential applications and their implementation. This adds professional and practical topics to the perspective offered by the installations. If you would like to plan around a specific event, check the exact dates in advance.

Remembrance in the village landscape

The memorial walk for Nagypáli’s fallen soldiers of the First World War is lined with a row of kopjafas and a row of mulberry trees. The “Hősök harangja” bell, made in Sopron, is also on the path and rings in memory of the fallen soldiers. The Hősi emlékmű (Heroes’ Memorial) also stands in the village centre.

The memorial walk and the monument in the centre offer different forms of remembrance: here, rows of trees and kopjafas shape a path; there, a monument marks the village centre. Together with the playground and energy themes, they create a fuller picture of Nagypáli than any single attraction could. If you are interested in local history, both the walk and the central monument are specific places to explore.

Choosing Nagypáli as a holiday destination

When looking for a holiday apartment in Nagypáli, the village’s attractions can help you narrow down your choice. An interest in landscaped play areas leads to different holiday themes than an interest in renewable energy or remembrance. So consider which of these aspects you would most like to shape your stay. This makes it possible to assess Nagypáli as a destination on the basis of its own themes, without turning them into a fixed itinerary for your trip.
