The lakes in Pétfürdő created by mining are operated as fishing lakes. The natural area also includes the ex lege protected marsh near Pétfürdő, which can be reached from Berhidai út via a road outside the built-up area.
Culture
The Roman Catholic Church of Szent László in Pétfürdő was built in 1941. Its interior is decorated with a painted wooden coffered ceiling.
The Római gát is an exposed section of a Roman military road between Pétfürdő and Öskü. The section is 158 meters long and 4.5 meters high. The thermal spring of Pétfürdő, mentioned in 1716, is also part of the town’s history.
History
The more recent history of Pétfürdő is inseparably linked to the history of Pétisó, the once world-famous fertilizer product manufactured there.
Getting There
Pétfürdő railway station is located on the Székesfehérvár–Szombathely railway line. Pétfürdő is most easily reached via Hungarian Main Road 8. Bus services provide public transport connections from Pétfürdő to the surrounding settlements.
