The Báránd Shepherds’ Bell Collection is a permanent exhibition featuring more than 700 ethnographic objects. It commemorates the former rural craft of bell casting and was established as a public collection by Veres Sándor in 2000.
The Balassa-Iván Cultural Centre is located at 11 Kossuth tér in Báránd. The present-day Reformed Church in Báránd was built between 1769 and 1772. Thanks to its acoustics and interior dimensions, it is suitable for concerts, community celebrations and commemorative events.
The Roman Catholic Church in Báránd was built between 1747 and 1752 and consecrated in 1752. It is a Baroque church with brick masonry.
History
The Kossuth Monument in Báránd was designed based on plans by sculptor Kiss György (1852–1916) and created by Gerenday Béla. The Kossuth Monument in Báránd was unveiled on 15 March 1896.
For decades, commemorative ceremonies for the martyrs of 1848/49 have been held at the grave of Balogh János on 6 October.
The puppet exhibition "Once Upon a Time …" has been accessible since 2006. The puppet collection is located in the Napsugár Kindergarten and was open to visitors daily.
Nature
Parts of the area outside Báránd are designated as protected natural areas within the Bihar Landscape Protection Area.
Geographical Location
Main Road 42 runs through the centre of Báránd.
