Discover Lipót
Accommodation in Lipót
Lipót combines a large thermal and adventure bath with nature by the water, a traditional bakery, and a Baroque church. When choosing your holiday apartment, it may therefore be important to consider which aspects of the town interest you most: active hours at the bath, insights into the landscape, or local history.

Bathing and activities
Lipót’s main tourist attraction is its fully renovated and expanded thermal and adventure bath, with six pools. A 1,200 m² beach pool area includes a wave pool, a water playground, and large slides. The 10-hectare landscaped grounds also offer beach volleyball, table tennis, and badminton. Massages and Aqua Zumba are also available; children have a large playground and a water park. Alongside swimming, the focus is on various opportunities for exercise and play across the grounds.
The bath’s thermal water was classified as medicinal water in 2004. If you are planning your trip with the bathing facilities as your main consideration, you can use the six pools and the other activities listed as a guide when choosing where to stay in Lipót.
Backwater, water lilies, and birdwatching
North of Lipót, a 70-hectare backwater borders the village, its surface covered with water lilies. A nature trail runs along the shore. Shelters provide protection from the rain, rest areas offer places to pause, and birdwatching hides offer views of the wildlife by the water. This natural area is quite different from the sports- and play-focused facilities at the adventure bath: here, the emphasis is on the waterside landscape and birdwatching.
A protected chestnut avenue is another distinctive feature of the local landscape. It lies along the road between Lipót and Darnózseli. Lake Kövecses and the Kengyártói Lakes are listed in Lipót as fishing waters. Those interested in waterside landscapes can therefore explore different features: the water-lily-covered backwater and its nature trail, and the lakes listed as fishing waters.
Bakery history and local culture
The history of Lipóti Pékség began in 1992 in Lipót with a team of four. At the Lipóti bakery, traditional baking craftsmanship is combined with modern technology. The bakery includes a glass-fronted gallery visitor center that welcomes visitors during the summer holidays. Visits are therefore limited to the summer holiday period; the visitor center complements the other experiences in the town with the history and craft of the bakery.
Another destination for those interested in culture is St. Clement’s Church, completed in 1777 in the Baroque style. One of its most important works of art is a fresco attributed to Maulbertsch. The church also houses a Passion painting that is believed to have come from the Capuchin monastery in Mosonmagyaróvár. The fresco and the Passion painting each have their own story: the attribution of one work is expressed cautiously, while the origin of the other is given as a possibility. Together, they offer a reason to explore Lipót’s religious art and historic architecture during your stay.
