Mikóháza: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Haris nature trail in Mikóháza is an easy 3.8-kilometre walking route. The Trianoni nature trail begins at the car park on Petőfi utca and ends at the hiking trail marked with a red triangle leading to the Fekete-hegyi kilátó, about 120 metres from the lookout tower.

Nature

The Fekete-hegyi kilátó lookout tower is a 13-metre-high wooden tower. It offers panoramic views over the Hegyköz and the mountains surrounding the basin.

The Debra-völgyi nature trail has a birdwatching hide from which, with a little luck, rare birds from the surrounding area can be observed. At its stations, the Fekete-hegyi nature trail provides information about the area's special features as well as its flora and fauna.

A cycle route running through Mikóháza enables a safe ride to Sárospatak and, in the opposite direction, to Bózsva.

Culture

The Greek Catholic church of Mikóháza is a Baroque building erected in 1769 and features an iconostasis with 48 images. It can be visited free of charge by prior arrangement.

The Turul bird monument in Mikóháza was erected in 1933 and renovated in 2000. It is crowned by an approximately 5-metre-high artificial-stone obelisk, topped by a sculpture of a Turul taking flight, restored to its original form.

The traditional cellar row of Mikóháza comprises 95 cellars, some of which date back to the late 19th century. The Gyöngyösbokréta Hagyományőrző és Közösségi Ház in Mikóháza houses an exhibition on local history and culture.

Traditions

The Vadkolbásztöltő Festival in Mikóháza was held for the 14th time in December 2025; at this edition, 16 teams prepared sausages.

The Polyán estate offers products made from the meat of borzderes cattle all year round, including cheese, meat and sausage; prior arrangements are required before arrival.
