Palkonya is part of the Villány wine region and the Villány–Siklós Wine Route. Its most distinctive feature is the historic cellar row, with its press houses on the hillside. The historic cellar row comprises 53 press houses. Arranged in several rows on a hillside facing the vineyards, they form a protected national monument. The protected houses in Palkonya also preserve traditional Swabian architectural values through local architectural heritage protection. Another historic destination is the Catholic Church of St. Elizabeth. The Batthyány family had it built, and it was dedicated to Saint Elizabeth in 1816. Wine Region and the Pincejáró Tour

Palkonya’s place in the Villány wine region and on the Villány–Siklós Wine Route makes wine an important part of the village’s character.
