The Sandy Coast and Beaches of the Municipality

The stretch of coast from Káto Achaḯa toward Kalogria is characterized by extensive sandy beaches. Across the municipality, the beaches extend for a total of four kilometers. Káto Achaḯa was declared an archaeological site in 2018 and is part of the unified archaeological site “Dyme–Pachoumas.”

Another trace of the past is Dyme’s public bath. It was in continuous operation from the late 1st century BC or early 1st century AD until the 6th century AD. This long period makes the bath a distinctive part of the town’s history. Together with the preserved elements of the town plan, it paints a picture in which ancient history is not just a single date, but has played a role across different eras.

The Church of Saint Demetrios is also a historic landmark in the town. It was probably built in the mid-12th century. This date is therefore reported as probable, not as an exact year of construction.
