Káto Ássos: Beach, Walks and Taverns

Káto Ássos combines a beach with fairly shallow water and a sandy seabed with peaceful walks in nature and local taverns. The taverns offer snacks and traditional Greek dishes. In addition, a multifunctional park project with cultural, sporting and environmental elements is planned for the beach. The Lechaio–Velo route describes the beach at Káto Ássos as well maintained. The water is fairly shallow, and the seabed is sandy. A park project by the beach

A multifunctional park is also planned for the beach at Káto Ássos. At the time of the report, the project was under development. Plans included an open-air theatre with around 250 seats, a stage and dressing rooms, two basketball and tennis courts, a playground, a skateboard area, and an outdoor area with fitness equipment. The planned design includes green spaces, trees, shade structures, walking paths and benches. The concept therefore brings together different uses: the theatre represents culture, the sports courts and fitness equipment provide opportunities for exercise, and the playground and skateboard area are for play and activity. Greenery, shade, paths and benches add outdoor spaces for spending time. This combination makes the project more than just a single sports area: culture, exercise and outdoor leisure are brought together in one project.
