Solihull’s character is particularly evident along the Solihull Green Man Trail: the route covers more than 21 miles of public footpaths and connects the urban and rural areas of the borough. The trail also features Green Man figures created through partnerships between schools in the borough and the Solihull Neighbourhood Rangers.

Nature

Located in the heart of the town centre are Malvern and Brueton Parks, parks with Green Flag status. The Brueton Tree Trail includes English oaks, giant sequoias, ginkgo trees and Indian bean trees, among others. Bus routes 5, 5A and 899 serve Malvern and Brueton Parks.

On the outskirts of Solihull lies Elmdon Nature Park, a Green Flag park and local nature reserve. The park features a lake and walking trails; its landscape is hilly and offers views across the region. Around thirty acres of the former parkland surrounding the estate at Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens are now a local nature reserve.

Culture

The National Motorcycle Museum displays more than 1,000 fully restored motorcycles, with more than 850 on display at any one time. The collection includes 171 marques and extends across five exhibition halls, ranging from a pioneering machine dating from 1898 to modern British superbikes.

Berkswell Windmill, also known as Balsall Windmill, was built in 1826 on the site of an earlier post mill dating from 1706 and is considered the most complete tower windmill in the Midlands. The Core Theatre Solihull offers a varied programme of professional and amateur music, drama and comedy events. The open-air courtyard café at Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens serves homemade cakes as well as locally produced savoury dishes and snacks.

Experiences

Three-hour sessions at Land Rover Experience Solihull include rock crawling and water crossings under expert guidance. Land Rover Experience Solihull also offers Range Rover experiences featuring steep climbs, water crossings and specially designed obstacles. In addition, it provides guided tours of the Range Rover factory at the original Land Rover production plant.
