Struxdorf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Struxdorf is one of the municipalities within the boundaries of the Schlei Nature Park. The Schlei Nature Park is Germany’s northernmost nature park. It takes its name from the Schlei, which stretches for more than 42 kilometres from Schleswig to its mouth at the Baltic Sea and forms Schleswig-Holstein’s largest brackish-water area.

Nature

The Schlei Nature Park is located predominantly in the Schleswig-Holstein Uplands. Within the nature park, the area north of the Schlei is known as Angeln, while the area south of the Schlei belongs to Schwansen. The Schlei landscape features gently rolling terrain, beech forests and hedgerow landscapes. The tranquil waters of the Noore provide breeding, resting and overwintering areas for endangered bird species.

In the wider surrounding region, Baltic Sea beaches and cliffs offer opportunities for swimming and hiking. The Schleswig-Flensburg district has developed cycling and hiking trails. Bridges and ferries at Missunde, Lindaunis, Arnis and Kappeln provide crossings over the Schlei.

Trails

The Nature Park Trail passes through four nature parks in Schleswig-Holstein and is 180 kilometres long. It is marked in both directions with yellow arrows. Hikers can choose to follow the entire Nature Park Trail or shorter stages and circular routes.

Culture

Struxdorf is home to St. George’s Church, whose origins date back to around 1230. It combines a late Romanesque rubble-stone nave, a wooden bell tower from the 16th century, a Romanesque baptismal font, a Baroque altar by Nikolaus Heim from 1656 and a historic Marcussen organ from 1876.

Weltkunst Angeln provides information about current projects and exhibitions. Atelier ANKA und Anders, located at Bellig 4 in Struxdorf, is associated with art and culture.

The Angeln Landscape Museum in Unewatt can be explored on a 1.7-kilometre circular tour through the village. The museum uses original buildings for exhibitions on cultural history and offers activities for children.
