Nature and Coast
In the Sehlendorf district of Blekendorf, visitors will find landscape and nature reserves next to the almost four-kilometre-long Sehlendorf Beach. Blekendorf has an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails, which also includes the Kranich-Rundweg adventure trail. Blekendorf is connected to the road network via the B202 and L258.
Experiences
Filippos Erlebnisgarten has a farm café serving homemade cakes and gateaux. Seasonal fruit picking is available there: strawberries, raspberries, cherries, apples and plums. The farm shop sells homemade jams, fruit spreads, preserves, juices, jellies and vinegar. The attraction includes a raft pirate playground, a giant trampoline, go-karts and a petting zoo.
At the Donkey and Countryside Farm, visitors can pet and groom donkeys. The facility is designed to be accessible and has accessible toilets. Free parking spaces are available directly at the Donkey and Countryside Farm; there are also exactly three solar-powered charging stations for electric vehicles there.
Culture
Blekendorf is home to an early Gothic fieldstone church built between 1230 and 1240. Its 55-metre-high tower is visible from a wide surrounding area. Its furnishings include a late Baroque altar from 1709 and a wooden baptismal font from the same period as the altar. The pulpit bears coats of arms and names associated with the aristocratic Ratlow family.
