Behrendorf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Villagescape

Behrendorf appears as a long, linear village along the road between Werben and Hindenburg. The villagescape is primarily characterized by small settlement houses.

History

The history of the village is documented in a record from 1209 concerning the holdings of Havelberg and also mentioning properties in Behrendorf. Another historical trace is the former station building of the Goldbeck–Werben narrow-gauge railway. The railway was in operation until 1971; the building has been preserved as a residential house in Behrendorf and represents a small part of the local railway heritage, visible in the landscape from the village.

Surroundings

Werben St. Johannis is located in the vicinity of Behrendorf, as is Arensberg. The surrounding area includes Schöppenstuhl, Großer Burgwall, and Schlosspark. Further afield in the region are Plattenburg Moated Castle, Babe Petting Zoo, and Wulfswerder.
