History
Treseburg has a documented mining history: ore mining probably began around 1400 or earlier; by the middle of the 15th century, a smelting plant with a drainage ditch was in operation.
After a lengthy interruption, ore mining resumed in 1714 and continued, with further interruptions, until 1777.
A hiking route approximately ten kilometers long runs through the Bode Valley from Treseburg toward Thale or to the Roßtrappe.
