Culture and History

Rohrsheim is a locality of the town of Osterwieck in Saxony-Anhalt. The village lies between Dedeleben and Hessen in a hollow and in a further crossroads area between Halberstadt, Wernigerode, Wolfenbüttel and Schöningen.

Rohrsheim's history is closely connected with Westerburg, an old Harz counts' castle between Rohrsheim and Dedeleben. In the centre of Rohrsheim stands a large Germania war memorial; it was unveiled on 1 September 1889.

For visitors hiking through the Fallstein area, the municipality recommends making a detour there. This is a specific suggestion for visitors who would also like to include a historical destination while hiking.
