The northern loop of the Sieben-Weiher-Weg is a shorter alternative to the full route of more than 30 kilometres. It passes through a wetland and reaches the shore of Dreifelder Weiher. The Romantische Seenplatte circular trail passes the oldest stone church in the Westerwald and reaches the Wölferlinger Weiher nature reserve.

Culture and history

A religious St. Blaise tradition is celebrated annually in Kuhnhöfen. According to a local legend, it is associated with protecting livestock during the cattle plague. Today, the celebration takes place in the village chapel. The subsidiary church of St. Blaise was built in 1934. The Catholic subsidiary church at Hauptstraße 26 is listed as a rubble-stone hall dating from 1934. Since 2014, Kuhnhöfen has belonged to the parish of St. Anna Herschbach.

Exploring the Westerwald

Bus route 433 from Hachenburg serves Seeburg, Steinebach an der Wied and Dreifelden. The circular trail around Dreifelder Weiher can begin or end there. The sculpture park in Steinebach contains five sculptures created by local artists.
