Hömberg is situated on the Lahn Heights at the foot of the Westerwald in Nassau Nature Park. From here, expansive views stretch toward the Taunus, Hunsrück, and Eifel.
Four signposted local circular trails begin near the entrance on the Nassau side: H1 covers approximately 4 km via the Pionierbrüggelche, while H2 is approximately 3.4 km long and offers views of Nassau Castle and the Lahn Valley. The approximately 8.3 km-long H3 runs via the Ehrlichskopf and past a former slate mine. H4 covers approximately 6 km via Herrnley, the Hahnenkopf, and the Gertrudishöhe viewpoint; it includes steep sections and is recommended for experienced hikers.
