Festivals and Outdoor Activities in Gappenach

Popular carnival sessions organized by the Gappenacher Karneval association are part of the festivities. While exhibitions and multimedia presentations characterize Sayner Hütte, Hein's Mühle focuses on the milling process and the craft itself.

At the New Museum at Sayn Castle, Prince Alexander and Princess Gabriela give visitors a private glimpse into the life of their noble family. In the Children's Kingdom, visitors can try on historical costumes. Those interested in a designed park landscape will find another cultural landscape attraction at Sayn Castle Park: Carl Friedrich Thelemann created it as an English landscape garden from 1840 to 1850, commissioned by Prince Ludwig Adolf Friedrich zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn. Features include a castle pond with a fountain, winding paths, numerous benches, and secluded quiet spots.
