Medebach: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Medebach is a small town in the Hochsauerland district in eastern North Rhine-Westphalia.

Culture

Medebach has a Hanseatic heritage: medieval long-distance trade made the town a member of the Hanseatic League. Since 24 July 2012, it has officially borne the additional name “Hanseatic City”.

Tourism plays a significant role in Medebach’s economy today.

The southern part of the municipal area is crossed by the Orke, a western tributary of the Eder. The northeastern area belongs to the Wilde Aa basin; farther east, it flows into the Orke.
