Eversberg has a historic townscape, while its trails and nature experiences offer different ways to explore the landscape. The old town trail highlights the town hall, half-timbered houses and views from the castle ruins; the wild boar forest adventure trail draws attention to the forest habitat. Other attractions include a local history museum, an annual arts and crafts market, and opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. You can choose what to focus on during your stay: local history, nature experiences or active outings.

Old town trail: local history on a circular route

Eversberg is located in the landscape of Arnsberg Forest Nature Park. The old town trail begins at the Eversberg Local History Museum and forms a circular route of about 2.33 kilometres, taking around 40 minutes. It passes the historic town hall and half-timbered houses. From the castle ruins, you can look out over Eversberg; the trail also leads to an adventure playground shaped like a knight’s castle. Town views, a viewpoint and a playground are all part of the same described route.

You can explore the local history museum on your own or take a guided tour. Together with the old town trail, it offers a choice between a walk outdoors and a museum visit with a guide or independent exploration. Your preference can shape the focus of a day trip, without requiring you to plan for several themes at once.

Experience the forest and discover the market square

The 1.6-kilometre wild boar forest adventure trail focuses on the forest habitat. Along the way, visitors can experience it using all their senses at various information stations. Unlike the old town trail, the focus here is not on the town hall, half-timbered houses and views, but on experiencing nature and the stations along the route. The two trails therefore offer different things to discover during a stay in Eversberg.

The market square and local history are also connected: the listed Markes House is right in the middle of the historic town centre, directly beside the market square and the historic town hall. Every year on the second weekend in November, the Martinsmarkt arts and crafts market takes place in the market square and at the Markes House arts and cultural centre. As the exact dates vary from year to year, it is worth checking the date when planning your trip.
