Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Zülpich can then continue searching for accommodation. Seepark Zülpich has more than 5,000 square metres of sandy beach with palm trees. The park covers 20 hectares and includes extensive play and activity areas.
A bus stop is located directly at the main entrance to Seepark. The park also offers around 1,500 free parking spaces and was designed as an accessible park. Seepark is located on the grounds of the 2014 State Horticultural Show.
Culture and History
Historical traces can be explored at 13 stations in Zülpich’s medieval town centre using the information panels provided by the ArchaeoRegion Nordeifel. The Roman baths on Mühlenberg are among the best-preserved of their kind north of the Alps.
The architectural remains of the Roman baths have been integrated into the Museum of Bathing Culture. A characteristic Roman underfloor heating system as well as a Roman water supply and sewage system have been preserved there. Römerthermen – Museum of Bathing Culture is also one of Zülpich’s cultural attractions.
Large sculptures by Ulrich Rückriem can be found throughout the town. Moated castles are among the excursion attractions associated with Zülpich. Manor houses are also among these excursion attractions.
Landscape
Zülpich is situated in a largely flat Börde landscape with stream valleys and Seepark.
Getting Around
At weekends, train services run to Düren and Euskirchen via the Bördebahn railway line. The Zülpich area includes the VIA Erlebnisraum Römerstraße Agrippastraße Köln-Trier, the Rotbach Valley Route, the Neffelbach Valley Route and the Moated Castle Route.
Zülpich offers leisure opportunities for cycling. Zülpich Cycling and Hiking Station serves as the starting and finishing point for hiking and cycling tours.
