Engine Shed, Town Wall and Town Church
The Pasewalk Railway Experience Centre, Lokschuppen Pasewalk, is housed in a roundhouse that went into operation in 1896. The building has 25 radial tracks and around 6,000 m² of covered space. Large sections of Pasewalk’s medieval town wall, with its towers, gates and weighing houses, have been preserved. Kiek in de Mark is a tower of the former town fortifications that stands over 20 metres tall; its height is 20.2 metres. The square base transitions into a cylindrical tower, topped by an octagonal brick spire above a battlemented crown. From the base to the top, you can see a sequence of clearly distinguishable forms.
St. Nikolai has two distinct distinctions: it is the oldest town church in Pasewalk and also the largest fieldstone church in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The first statement refers to Pasewalk’s town churches, while the second refers to fieldstone churches in the state. Today, St. Nikolai is a cultural church hosting numerous religious and secular events. Alongside its architecture, its current cultural use is therefore also part of what makes this historic building distinctive.

At the Pasewalk Town Museum, anyone interested can try drawing and writing with a reed pen. You can also try out the artist Paul Holz’s drawing style for yourself in the museum tower.
